Before any garage can work on EVs and Hybrids, they have to be granted a license to access the vehicle’s systems. They are subjected to a number of thorough checks to qualify for licenses they need. Their reputation, qualifications and customer service all need to be top notch. Dean will tell you it’s quite a level of scrutiny they are put through.

The licenses are issued by Maverick Diagnostics, an independent agency who provide access to the computer interfaces to 34 different manufacturers. Along with the license, Maverick supply tools, and the training to work on the programming of the car’s control system.

Cheshire EV by DC Lomas have been granted direct access to each vehicle’s interface integration, allowing them to access the control modules in the car’s electrical and computing centres. They wouldn’t have been granted that unless they had proved they skill and trustworthiness.
